Fuel for Love

Researchers have found that many foods contain hundreds of chemical compounds that have very specific, and sometimes sex-enhancing, effects. Chilies They contain capsaicin, a chemical compound that causes your heart to race and your skin to flush—a sure sign that blood flow is on the fast track. They dilate blood vessels and help all of that blood get where it's needed Chocolate There's a good reason women often call it the love food. The cocoa in chocolate contains stimulants that increase skin sensitivity. Chocolate also contains compounds that are chemically similar to the euphoria-inducing hormone your body produces when you're in love. Citrus Nearly all fresh and frozen fruits are high in vitamin C; oranges, grapefruit, and other citrus fruits are C standouts. University of Texas researchers report that men who get at least 200 milligrams of vitamin C a day have higher sperm counts than those who consume less. Vitamin C also keeps your sperm from clumping, so your boys...

In love? It's not enough to keep a marriage, study finds

SYDNEY (Reuters Life!) – Living happily ever after needn't only be for fairy tales. Australian researchers have identified what it takes to keep a couple together, and it's a lot more than just being in love. A couple's age, previous relationships and even whether they smoke or not are factors that influence whether their marriage is going to last, according to a study by researchers from the Australian National University. The study, entitled "What's Love Got to Do With It," tracked nearly 2,500 couples -- married or living together -- from 2001 to 2007 to identify factors associated with those who remained together compared with those who divorced or separated. It found that a husband who is nine or more years older than his wife is twice as likely to get divorced, as are husbands who get married before they turn 25. Children also influence the longevity of a marriage or relationship, with one-fifth of couples who have kids before marriage -- either from a p...

50 Universal truth about men

Why should I remind you that “I love you?” I already told you once. I’ll do anything for sex; even commit to you for life. I hate arguing with you . I’d much rather find a compromise.   I love long hair. Sorry, but I do.   When you speak softly, I can’t help but listen.  I need to be told “no” sometimes. Not a lot, but every now and again reminds me that you are expensive.  Please don’t ask me how you look unless you’re willing to trust my answer.   My eyes notice other women a lot more when you are upset with me.  When you’re happy with me I can’t help but want to please you.  If I don’t feel I can make you happy, it makes me feel less than a man. I expect you to be ready when I pick you up. Cigarettes make any woman look cheap and easy.  I'm scared if I let a woman inside my heart, she'll take advantage of me.  If you can’t stand up to me when I’m a brat, you’re too weak for me to open up to when I’m upset.  Sitting quietly next to me after you’ve made me a meal is your get-o...

What do women want in their men?

Physical attributes? Pleasant personality? Sense of humour? Money? Intelligence? Or can a pleasant and respectable personality also help cast a good impression and get your heartthrob to take note of you? 1. Intelligence and honesty Women rate trust and intelligence way on top in their list of likes in their men. Aksa, a painter living in Mumbai bubbles over with enthusiasm as she says, "Mental intercourse is a solid turn-on for me. That, of course, happens only with brilliant men. Dumb men turn me off. They may be hot-looking and smart, but if they can't strike a intelligent conversation and are not honest about what they are, I get disinterested in them instantly." Amita, a professional with a leading MNC in Delhi, seconds this opinion: "If I realise a guy is lying to me for some petty reason, it completely puts me off. I find it very difficult to trust him or mentally connect with him again." 2. Confident and substance-free Men who are not confident, filled w...

The secret of unconditional love unravelled

The reason why you immeasurably care for a person without any thought of reward is one of science's biggest mysteries. Now, researchers at Montreal University claim that they have unravelled the secret behind unconditional love. The research team, led by Professor Mario Beauregard of Montreal University's centre for research into neurophysiology and cognition, found that the emotion emerges from a complex interplay between seven separate areas of the brain. Such brain activity has only limited overlap with the cerebral impulses seen in romantic or sexual love, suggesting it should be seen as an entirely separate emotion. "Unconditional love, extended to others without exception, is considered to be one of the highest expressions of spirituality. However, nothing has been known regarding its neural underpinnings until now," The Times quoted Mario, as saying. To reach the conclusion, the volunteers were recruited on the basis that they had a proven ability to feel stron...
