Safety first inside Metro tunnel

In eight minutes flat, as Namma Metro’s east-west corridor train completes that 4.8km stretch, commuters might harbour a nagging thought: what if the train stops suddenly inside the tunnel. Is it safe enough? To banish that thought, a team from Deccan Herald went underground checking out all the safety measures in place. Tunnel-walking from the Cubbon Park station till the Vidhana Soudha stop 400 metres away, the team noticed a walkway at a three-metre elevation from the track. Attached to the tunnel wall on one side, it ran the full distance between the stations. The walkway had a clear purpose: quick evacuation. But what about the air? The Metro engineers were sure, the air-conditioning within the coaches would suffice to keep everyone inside comfortable for 20 to 30 minutes. Once the commuters get onto the walkway, the Tunnel Ventilation System (TVS) will do the trick. Simply put, the TVS is about blowing air into the tunnel from one station and taking it out from the next o...

Madness in the name of Almighty

The Firework tragedy in Kollam remind us all about the madness with which various trust's in name of God are operated . It is not just the case of Temple but also for festivals of Church , Muslim Festival and even the political party functions . In name of God they break rule and regulation and care little  about the public even of there own kids or relatives . Huge Sounds are played 24x7 during these festival . Nobody care about the sound Pollution or Supreme Court Orders or Even does not care for the old people , Kids & Students in their own house who are deeply disturbed by huge sound . I have personally experience for it . When you request to reduce or shift something the potential Communal Card Comes into play. They threaten your family , physically assault you , make foul comments in public and even threaten to kill . the organizer take such issue as matter of pride to show that they are powerful & big. Even Govt Administration does not care to implement the Cou...
