Why oil price Dropping so fast ?

The oil industry, with its history of booms and busts, appears to be in the early stages of its latest downturn. The price of oil has plunged in recent months, reaching its lowest point in more than five years. Q: Why is the price of oil dropping so fast? Why now? On the demand side, the economies of Europe and developing countries are weakening and vehicles are becoming more energy-efficient. So demand for fuel is lagging a bit. Q: Who benefits from the price drop? A: Any motorist can tell you gasoline prices have dropped more than a dollar a gallon in recent months. Diesel, heating oil and nat

Tata Airlines Reborn as Vistara Takes to Skies

India's newest airline Vistara took to the skies on Friday, marking the return of the Tata Group into the aviation business after six decades. Vistara is now the third full-service carrier in the country, after state-run Air India and private carrier Jet Airways. The inaugural flight took off from Delhi's T3 Terminal for Mumbai. Tata Group's chairman emeritus Ratan Tata said it has been a long-cherished dream for the Tata group to establish a world-class full service airline in India and he would dedicate this day to late JRD Tata, the former chairman of the group and India's first licensed pilot. "Today, that dream has come to life," said Ratan Tata. Vistara is a 51:49 joint venture of Tata Group and Singapore Airlines. Vistara marks the third attempt by Tata Group for re-entering the airline business. In 1995, the Tata Group had teamed up with Singapore Airlines to float an airline, but its proposal failed to take wings. In 2000, the duo's proposa

Rafale fighter jets deal :

The multi—billion dollar Rafale fighter jet contract with France has run into rough weather over a guarantee clause and steep rise in price with India making it clear that the ball is in France’s court as it looks at the option of buying more Russian Sukhoi—30 MKI warplanes as a back—up plan. India is insisting that Dassault Aviation, which manufactures Rafale, cannot renege on the Request for Proposal (RFP) clauses, which it had initially agreed to. The situation has come to such a level that France has been forced to send an empowered delegation later this month to “solve all remaining issues” to salvage the contract. A top Defence Ministry official here had this week admitted that there were problems and said India could consider buying more Russian—made Sukhoi—30 planes if the proposed deal with France collapsed. Recalling the last month’s meeting between Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and his French counterpart, sources said French “were told categorically to stick to
