To measure the laughter ,he attached sensors to the skin of a tested subjects stomach and detects the muscle movement. the machine looks 3000 times a second at electric element normally produced in the body.By checking the movemen

Aamir in Munnabhai director's next

Shah Rukh Khan's loss has become Aamir Khan's [Images] gain. SRK was slated to do a film with Munnabhai [Images] director Rajkumar Hirani. Unfortunately, the actor had differences with the film's producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and opted out of the film. Hirani has moved on to his next film, called Idiots. It will star Aamir Khan, according to Khan's latest post on his blog. Idiots is a story based on a college campus, and deals with five 'useless' students. Hirani has become one of the most sought after directors in Bollywood after he delivered two blockbusters, Munnabhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai. SRK was so impressed with the director that he desired to work with the director. Unfortunately, when Chopra's Eklavya was sent to the Oscars as India's entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category, sparks flew as Chopra belittled Paheli [Images]. SRK then walked out of the film. Now, Aamir is all set to work in the film; the shooting of which will s

Never Lose Hope!

Into each life a rain must fall There's joy and pain you can recall Life's full of challenge; big and small But you can overcome them all. Put everything in perspective See things clearly, be positive Life's wonderful, plenty to give More goals and dreams you can achieve. Leave the past, to the future move on No regrets, just wisdom and vision Everything happens for a reason It's your new dawn, change your direction. Look at life on a brighter scope No burden's too great, you can't cope In time; wounds will heal, do not mope You'll rise and shine, never lose hope! Copyright © 2007 Winnie Cemat Sharp

Valentine's Day Love Poems

How Do I Love Thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight For the ends of Being an ideal Grace. I love thee to the level of everyday's Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight. I love thee freely, as men strive for Right; I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise. I love thee with the passion put to use In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith. I love thee with a love I seemed to lose With my lost saints,--I love thee with the Breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life!--and, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death. extract from Elizabeth Barret Browning

History of Valentine's Day

Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday? The history of Valentine's Day -- and its patron saint -- is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance. St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred. One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied

Noted social activist and Magsaysay award winner Murlidhar Devidas Amte alias Baba Amte died at his Anandvan ashram in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra on Saturday. He was 94. Baba Amte passed away at 4:15 am. One of the country's most respected social leaders, Amte devoted his life to the care and rehabilitation of leprosy patients.Baba Amte is a great example of a person who committed his life for the welfare of the destitute and needy."It is with a deep sense of grief and loss that I heard about the demise of Baba Amte. A true Gandhian who worked hard to uphold Gandhian values in their true spirit, Baba Amte became a legend in his own lifetime,"

Amte was the last follower of Mahatma Gandhi

He spent time at Mahatma Gandhi's ashram in Sevagram and was also influenced by Vinoba Bhave, Rabindranath Tagore, and Sane Guruji. Roudram, strictly for Mammootty's fans

People like to celebrate longevity -- birthdays, wedding anniversaries and silver jubilees. Likewise, it is a mater of celebration for an actor to be donning a character for the twenty-fifth (or is it twenty-sixth?) time. The USP of director Renji Panicker's second Malayalam film, Roudram is that Mammootty is playing a cop for the twenty-fifth time in his career. Other than that, the film offers nothing new. In fact, the film gives us a sense of deja vu, reminding us of Renji Panicker in his prime as a writer. As for the subject, the director has weaved a story taking all the political events happening in the state in the last few months and put his hero at the centre of it. As the hero, he is the same as we expect him to be -- a low ranking officer from the state cadre; an honest, stubborn man spewing fire with his words. He has scant regard for his corrupt superiors and does not mind giving them a piece of his mind at every given opportunity. Narendran aka Nari (Mammootty) is th

Mohanlal's College Kumaran is just average

Author: Paresh C Palicha Malayalam dialogue writers these days do not know to write punch lines for superstar Mohanlal. As his characterisation gets repetitive and storylines thin, the lines that he mutters get all the more monotonous -- a far cry from his Mone Dinesha. All that you hear him say in College Kumaran is I Love You, that too after winning brownie points in an argument with the education minister of the state or grounding an adversary in a physical duel. What a disappointment! The film directed by Thulasidhas has our hero in the role of a canteen manager with a valiant background of a Captain (in the military), who can also quote verbatim from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar! He is the most trusted counsellor for the students and can control fighting mob and help a female student who is blackmailed into sex trade. If we have to talk about the story, it is simple than what the kids learn in kindergarten. It has got everything that is plaguing education system; there is an at

Chocolate and sex can boost brain: Study

Forget crosswords. If you really want to boost your brain power, eat dark chocolate, consume cold meat and have plenty of sex, if possible every day. A team of international researchers has carried out a study and found that while dark chocolate and plenty of cold meat for breakfast boost grey matter, sex keeps the brain fit in later life, the Daily Mail reported. According to the study, those wishing to improve their mental ability should also avoid smoking cannabis, watching soap operas and hanging out with those who moan. Instead, cuddling a baby, cheating at homework, reading out loud and doing a business degree can boost their mind power. The theories of the researchers are contained in the book Teach Yourself: Training Your Brain. "What we eat and drink, how we learn at school and what type of moods we have are all crucial. People can make lifestyle choices that will constantly increase our cognitive capacity throughout our adult lives. Mix with people who make you laugh, ha
