Why do India need to have a Govt ?

With heavy Price Rise I personally Feel India does not need a government . The purpose of the Government is provide the best at affordable cost for common man . But past few years this is not happening . What is happening is that the government keep working for the rich while the poor suffer . This is not the purpose of Government . if the government cant provide certain that are essential item to the common at affordable price what ever the reason is it is not justifiable .
