Do I need to Vote – A DILEMMA?
Well it is election time in India. The most expensive activity of the country. The time when the big or small politician pay attention to the cattle Class of the country. They attend all activities and make a guest appearance to all function uninvited. The time when the mango people become important. Well my dilemma is whether i need to vote . As per the constitution Article no 19 (1) It is a Duty of a citizen to cast his vote to elect a representative to Lok sabha . However recent political action like corruption and cover up , drama of king maker , drama of a fool acting like i am a saviour who does not even know the history of the country , other incident made me to think like this. I sure many of new generation voter also have a similar thought .
For a common man right from birth till to death it all about competition & review. Best will survive in real world except in politics. In Politics Money power, proper marketing combined with management with caste & other factor plus some luck will do in elections. The licence to do anything, act & perform till the next election time. The High Command will decide and that is the law / rule created in parliament, whether his /her decision is good or bad no one knows. You have to listen stubborn decision and statements. No one cares. There is no review mechanism at all for the elected representatives which is shame of the democracy.
Second points
we are forced to choose from candidates whom are not from our constituency, whom we don’t know , whose performance was poor , whose personal life is not moral , still have to choose from that. Now at aleast the Supreme Court have allowed the NOTA key in ballot Box to express the View that we don’t like any of the candidates. Even if 50 % vote for NOTA still the nothing will happen since there is no provision in the constitution. But I am 100% sure that there will be places in India where NOTA % will be more than 25 %.
Third point
even if someone I vote for X candidate & he have won, will he be able to do something unless his party is in power that is a serious question mark.
Fourth point is the time, money spend in this process .
Well election is required as part of Democracy but the system needs to change with a new technology & review possibility. With Development of Passport , Aadhar , NPR , banking technology , combining all these online technique for polling , Counting & review after 2.5 yrs should be Introduced . Review should be based on Vote of people & weight age for his or her performance in Parliament combined. if a parliamentarian failed to get the 50 % of vote he / she achieved during the main election then he / she should be removed or dismiss like what happens to a student who fails in exam.
This will make lawmaker to make parliament run and the Voters have Value for their Vote.
Till then I don’t understand the Value of my vote even though it is my duty and right.
