Experience of Driving on a Express Highway

Recently I got a Chance to drive through an elevated Expressway for about 8 km in Bangalore.It was a 4 lane elevated bridge with seperator built on the busy traffic underneath it . Two & Three wheeler vehicle are actually banned from expressway. The Speed limit on the Express way is over 80 Kmph per hour and vehicle pass through it like a bullet. However due to high toll rate vehicular traffic over it was limited. The height of the expressway also provide good view of the sorrunding place from the top of it. When compared to time , cost for construction to that of the no of vehicles actually passing over it, I doubt the economics of such multi dollar projects. However I personally enjoyed the drive as it enable to me to press the accelerator to the maximum at top gear & enjoy the thrill of speed. Such expressway could reduce the travel duration between cities. Only disadvantage i found was in case of an emergency or a failure of the vehicle on the elevated expressway you will struggle to get help , since many of the elevated express way have only single entry & exist . However it is a Megastruture of purpose which will thrills , safes time & enable faster travel for long distance traveller in National highways.
